SUKKUR, Aug 31: A man killed his former sister-in-law and her daughter in their house in ADC Colony in Jacobabad late on Thursday night over suspicions they had illicit relations with men.

Ghulam Abbas Jakhrani shot dead Ms Girah Naz, 45, divorcee of his brother late Ghulam Hussain Jakhrani and then killed her daughter Ms Ghulam Sughra, 25. Later, he went to Civil Lines police station after committing the double murder and surrendered to police with the crime weapon.

He said inn his statement before police and journalists that he had killed his sister-in-law and his niece because they had illicit relations with a man and his son in the neighbourhood in Baqa Pull area.

Police took the bodies into custody and took them to the civil hospital. The bodies were handed over to relatives of the deceased after post-mortem.

Police have registered a case against Ghulam Abbas Jakhrani and his brother Mohammad Salah Jakhrani on a complaint lodged by their third brother Noor Hassan Jakhrani.
