THE news broke the hearts of many people that an SP from Punjab, a PSP officer, acted like a hooligan and killed a 23-year-old boy and maimed three others.

But, more alarming aspect is that police investigator(s) did not obtain his police remand on the ground that evidence had been collected and such request was accepted by the court of magistrate.

The prosecutor also followed the statement of the police investigators. This callousness shows that run-of-the-mill investigation will be conducted and the SP will go scot-free like many others.
