NAWABSHAH, Aug 24: Former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali has suggested holding of early elections as a way out of the ongoing conflict between institutions.

Talking to journalists at the circuit house here on Friday, he said the government should respect judiciary and comply with its verdicts. Otherwise, he warned, the tug of war between the executive and the judiciary would bring harm to the country.

He criticised the PPP for “sacrificing principles to political expediency”, recalling that President Asif Zardari had labelled the PML-Q as “Qatil League” after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, but did not hesitate to enter into an alliance with the same party after coming to power.

Mr Jamali offered condolences on the death of former MPA Rahim Bakhsh Jamali in Yar Mohammad Jamali village.
