NOWSHERA, Aug 13: A man and his wife, who got married against the consent of their parents a year ago, were killed allegedly by the woman’s relatives here on Monday.

Police said the woman had married a man, resident of Dargai, Malakand Division, on her own free will and was presently living with her husband at Baila Koroona, Pir Paye.

The police added that early in the morning the brothers of the woman entered her house and opened indiscriminate fire, killing the couple on the spot.Hospital sources said both the bodies were brought to the District Headquarters Hospital, Nowshera, for autopsy. Father of the man has registered a case against five accused at Azakhel police station.

Meanwhile, additional district and sessions judge Nowshera on Monday rejected an application of a man who pleaded that body of his daughter should not exhumed to ascertain the real cause of her death.

The application was moved by three lawyers in the court of additional district and sessions Judge Nowshera Syed Kamal Hussain in which the applicant pleaded that he belonged to a respectable family and exhumation of his daughter’s body would cause disgrace to his family.

Nowshera Kalan police had filed a case on August 9, 2012 that the girl, 14, was poisoned to death by her father and her uncle after being tortured by them. They had moved the court to ascertain the real cause of her death.

Police sources said the girl had allegedly escaped with a boy, resident of Ganderi, Risalpur and remained with him for three days.
