DADU, Aug 1: Two women were shot dead and three children injured in an armed attack in their house in Walio Khoso village near Mehar on Wednesday.

Eight armed men entered the house of Abid Hussain Khoso and opened indiscriminate fire, killing his wife Seema, 40, and mother Sadori, 60, and injuring his sons Sajid, 10, Danyal, 9, and Sabir, 8.

Police took the bodies to Khairpur Nathan Shah taluka hospital and, after post-mortem, handed them over to relatives. The injured children were taken to a Larkana hospital.

Police have registered an FIR against Ali Sher, Sadar, Abbas, Saddam, Yasin, Aijaz and two unidentified accused on the complaint of Huzoor Bux Khoso, brother of Abid Hussain.

The residents of the village held a demonstration on Mehar-Thareri Mohabbat road, demanding arrest of the accused. They said that police had failed to restore peace in the village where 15 people had been killed in armed clashes between two groups of Khoso tribe over the past 10 years.
