KARACHI: Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister on Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik has said that Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) is involved in creating unrest and terrorist activities in Balochistan to destabilize the country.

Malik made the statement while addressing a gathering during his visit to Pakistan Coast Guard (PCG) office on Monday.

He said Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to work jointly to stop cross border intrusion and hoped that the Afghan government would honour its commitment and stop cross border attacks.

Rehman Malik said that BLA was the biggest enemy of the country and was working against Pakistan.

He said they have reached to the roots of BLA and expressed confidence that it would be eliminated soon.

He further said that the BLA had made hostage to the people of Lyari, adding that two helicopters are being provided to Karachi police to take action against 'bhatta mafia' who were extorting money in the month of Ramazan.

Rehman Malik announced to give additional half a million rupees to the families of seven personnel who were killed in Coast Guard attack while their sons would be provided jobs in PCG and their daughters would be employed in NADRA.
