TIMERGARA, July 21: The Adenzai Peace Jirga on Saturday announced to end its cooperation with civil and military administrations in the area over the latter’s failure to register a case against the forces’ personnel for injuring brother, son and gunman of the jirga’s chief.

Talking to Dawn a member of the jirga said elders had met the district coordination officer and district police officer the other day and apprised them of the public sentiments. He said since the civil administration was unable to properly probe the matter, the jirga had decided not to cooperate with the administration in future.

LOW VOLTAGE: Residents of different villages of Khall on Saturday held a protest demonstration and blocked the Timergara-Chitral road for some time against low voltage of electricity in the area.

The demonstrators led by Akhunzada Tilawat Khan and Akhunzada Zahoor Zada were carrying banners and placards, chanting slogans against the government and Wapda.

They complained that Namsir, Mansorabad, Khall Colony, Khadang and Payeen Banda villages had been connected to the Wari feeder against the will of local people. They demanded of the concerned authorities to connect these villages to the Toormang-II feeder. The protesters warned to block the road indefinitely till their demand was met.
