ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued a notice to Rehman Malik on a stay order petition over his appointment as adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior, DawnNews reported.

A three member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the case.

The petitioner, Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi was of the view that the appointment of Malik as adviser to the PM, after his suspension from the Senate, was illegal and not according to the constitution.

The hearing of the case was subsequently adjourned.
