Tourists throng picnic spots

Almost all hotels in Galayt, especially in Nathiagali, Ayubia, Donga Gali, Changla Gali were booked while guest houses were packed to capacity as the tourists from down districts thronged scenic and snow-bound Galyat.
The major problem faced by the tourists was lack of parking space for vehicles and excessive loadshedding, which created shortage of drinking water, said a hotel owner, Mansoor, while talking to Dawn on phone from Nathiagali.
He, however, said there was slight improvement in unannounced loadshedding for the last couple of days, which brought relief to the tourists as well as the owners of hotels and restaurants.

Corporal punishment
GHALANAI, July 1: Corporal punishment leads to mental torture of a child, which consequently results in drop out of children from schools.
This was told by agency coordinator of the Child Rights Committee Noor Mohammad Khan, while speaking at a press conference at Mohmand Press Club here on Sunday.
He said children could not be made to understand things by pushing them, rather they could be better made to understand by adopting affectionate behaviour.
Noor Mohammad stressed the need for treating students in friendly-teaching atmosphere, saying the trend of pushing or taunting a student in front of others should be avoided.
He also urged the teachers to change their way of teaching as the changing scenario needed a more positive behaviour and atmosphere on the part of teachers.—Correspondent
