LADDAH, June 3: Five suspected militants, some foreigners among them, were killed and 10 others injured when a US drone fired missiles on a compound and a car in Sholam area of South Waziristan on Sunday morning.

But two foreign news agencies put the death toll at 10.

According to local people, a drone had attacked on Saturday the residence of militant Commander Malang whose brother Romanullah and two other militants were killed.

In the second strike in the area in 24 hours, a drone fired two missiles at the compound of Malang while two other missiles hit a car parked nearby. Five insurgents were killed and 10 others were injured in the attack.

Commander Malang and militant Kalam Khan, who was associated with Taliban leader Mullah Nazir, were among those killed in the attack.

Sources said that some foreigners were among the dead and the injured.

The injured were taken to a private hospital in the area.

Doctors of the government-run hospital in Wana were taken to the private clinic to treat the injured.
