HYDERABAD, June 1: A policeman died and another injured in an encounter in the jurisdiction of Hussainabad police station on Friday. Initial reports and police sources said the fighter squad of Hussainabad police was patrolling the area near district police’s stable ground in Latifabad. They signalled three motorbike riders to stop for checking but they didn’t and opened fire on them, killing a police constable, Rashid Khan and causing injuries to Gul Khan. Gul Khan has been admitted to the Civil Hospital in a precarious condition.

SHO Hussainabad Raees Khanzada said that fighter squad had also fired on the bike riders and one of them is believed to have received bullet injuries. Mir Fateh colony near Fateh factory had been encircled and another encounter may take place, he added.

RECOVERED: SSP Hyderabad Haseeb Afzal Beg told reporters on Friday evening that a 12-year-old girl Aqra bin Sajid, kidnapped on May 17 from Apwa girls high school unit No 8, Latifabad allegedly by one Bashir, has been recovered from Muzaffgarh, Punjab.
