Sometimes greatness is earned; other times you deserve it. It would be hard to deny that Amitabh Bachchan is the biggest film star (in terms of commercial success and fan-following) that the subcontinent has ever seen. His charisma adds to his acting skills and together they make an inspiring combination.

For the last 40 years he has been a part of countless hit films. For some strange reasons (and perhaps that’s the way he wanted it to be) the philanthropist in him was never brought to light. Little does he know nothing can remain concealed in today’s hyper-active world.

Seven years back when Big B came to know that farmers in Andhra Pradesh were committing suicide because they were not able to clear their debts, he secretly helped them and sent the penury-stricken people an amount of more than Rs1 million. This worked wonders for the kisan community. Members of the community a few years later extended their gratitude to the actor at a function in Andhra Pradesh, and that too without naming him. News is that in recent past Big B has donated an amount of Rs3 million for the farmer community of Maharashtra for the same reason.

Good going Bachchan sahib, keep up the good work.
