Renowned TV and film artist Ibrahim Nafees passes away

KARACHI: Renowned TV, film and theater artist, Ibrahim Nafees has died. He was 72. Nafees had been admitted to a private hospital since April 28.

Born in and raised in Agra, India, Nafees got preliminary education from Jaunpur. Nafees started his career as an actor on Radio Pakistan, Hyderabad.

He was suffering from various infections and lost his vision after an injury two years ago.

Ibrahim Nafees, performed in more than 300 stage and theater plays. He also played key roles in more than 250 films and TV plays. Nafees was among the few actors in Pakistan who was trained in drama acting in the UK.

He played many memorable roles in films. One his best performances was in the movie, 'Heera aur Pathar', which was a very popular movie with Waheed Murad.

'Aik Haqeeqat So Afsanay' and 'Afshan' were also remarkable TV serials due to his performances.
