ISLAMABAD, May 16: The capital police, investigating the April 20 plane crash that killed 127 passengers on board, have sought all the relevant documents and details about Bhoja Air operations, Dawn has learnt.

The sources said the capital police have approached the management of the Bhoja Air with a written request seeking details about shareholders name and the company’s operation.

They have asked the company to explain why it suspended its operation, and how it managed to restart it and from where it got the resources, including the manpower and other facilities like the planes. The company has also been asked to give the details of the planes it had disposed of during the closure of the operation.

Besides, the police have also sought the record of the planes presently being used by the company.

Meanwhile, an Islamabad-based administrative officer of Bhoja Air, Mohammad Fayaz, who is on bail, appeared before the Kural police on Tuesday, but could not a single question of the investigators.

During interrogation, he told them that he was directed by the head office to appear before the investigators, police said.

A police officer said that the investigators were probing the criminal aspect of the incident and were in contact with the authorities concerned, including the Civil Aviation Authority.

“We are waiting for the technical report of the incident and in its light necessary action will be taken,” he said adding, that apparently it seems that the plane was not fit for the flight and it was its first flight.
