LAHORE, May 10: Lahore Commissioner Jawad Rafique Malik on Thursday cancelled open bidding for contract of Shahpur Kanjraan cattle market for not receiving any handsome offer from the participants.

Conducted by the commissioner, the bidding was held at Town Hall where around 17 parties attended the proceedings.

The government had fixed Rs130.65 million as reserved bidding price of the contract. Muhammad Riaz was amongst the highest bidders who offered Rs140.47 million for getting the cattle market contract. The bidding committee asked the participants to increase the offered price further, but none of them did so. On this, the commissioner cancelled the bidding, directing the officials concerned to hold it again in coming days.
