ISLAMABAD, May 5: Sufis have played a great role in promoting peace and harmony among people. Their message is more relevant today as the world is passing through difficult times. Programmes like Sufi Aman Mela are aimed at providing respite to the tense and shattered souls.
Federal Minister for National Regulation and Services Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said this at the musical and dance show named ‘Sufi Night’ arranged by the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) at National Art Gallery Auditorium, Islamabad.
She appreciated the efforts of the PNCA for providing entertainment to the residents of Islamabad and other areas of the country.
The programme started with Qawwali by renowned Qawwal Kashif Ali ‘Es Karam Ka Karoon Shukar Kaisay Ada’. The National Performing Arts Group presented a beautiful dance on ‘Mahi Yar De Gardoli Bardi’. Hussnain Pasha came with the ‘Laj Mairi Patt’ and ‘Sajna Ney Boay Aggay Chik Taan Lai’.
Zahida Tabassum and Shafaq Ali presented their best songs, while renowned singer Shaukat Ali also presented his Sufi Kalam.
