Alle’nora by Aliya Tipu is a brand that enjoys glorious innings when it comes to hair and make-up. Cashing in on laurels past and present, the stylist recently introduced an in-house signature fashion label along with the launch of a men’s salon for grooms-to-be.

Details of the endeavour unfolded recently at a short and crisp fashion presentation at the salon premises in Karachi where the in-house clothing line was exhibited within the confines of a glass-paneled room adorned with pleasant aesthetics. It featured party, formal and casual wear as well as bridals within an affordable price range.

The presentation that followed shortly after a round of refreshments saw supermodels Iraj, Fawzia, Ayyan, Sana Sarfaraz and Konain in classic eastern outfits featuring ganga jamini, dabka and bling elements fused with silk thread embroidery in vibrant colours complimented by long, flowy eastern cuts. The palette was mostly confined to blacks, whites, pastels, ivory and beige with neckline embellishments featuring faux pearl and nagina work in necklace pattern. Film star Sana appeared particularly ravishing in a bronze-on-black outfit that complimented her flawless complexion and brought out her radiant personality.

The outfits themselves comprised multi-layering and an illusion effect for added drama coupled with loads of broad gota ribbon along the hemlines. The fabric of choice remained georgette and crinkled chiffon with jamawar paneling, large crochet edgings in dull silver and matte gold as well as colour-blocking. Embroidered panels lent an overall effect of class and sophistication that was used wisely and sparingly, and coupled with sequins, chikankari and self-worked fabric in luxury prêt that has what it takes to trigger a strong clientelle, and oozes classic signature style.

The hair and make-up extraordinaire had models done up in signature Lebanese look with heavy kohl-ed eyes for a dramatic look. With this launch, Alle’nora by Aliya Tipu also announced the expansion of its salon services to Dubai. — T.R.
