The gang barged into a shop owned by Mohindar Kumar and after snatching shotgun of the guard, collected gold ornaments and other valuables and fled. All jewellery shops of the market were closed in protest soon after, while other markets also joined in by also pulling their shutters down.

Leaders of political and social parties and trade organisations including Muhammad Moosa Khoso, Jalal Bozdar, Azhar Kalwar and Fakir Ramzan Kalwar along with others protested at the city road which remained blocked for quite sometime.

They demanded protection and security, especially to traders. Higher police authorities should take notice of such incidents and arrest culprits involved and recover the looted jewellery and cash, they said.
