ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday said the government was upholding national interests supreme and taking all the stakeholders on board in the decision making process.

He said that it was need of the hour to work collectively in steering the country out of the challenges it faces.

The prime minister was talking to members of Parliament who called on him at his Parliament House Chamber.

The parliamentarians appreciated the prime minister's remarks in the parliamentary leaders meeting on Thursday regarding evolving consensus upon the recommendations in the Joint Sitting of the Parliament on framing new terms of engagements with Nato/ISAF and the US.

The prime minister asked the parliamentarians to keep close liaison with the people of their respective constituencies aiming to solve their basic problems quickly.
