KARACHI, Feb 1: The Sindh government has so far released Rs42.29 billion out of its Rs111 billion annual development programme during the current financial year. However, of the released amount, the provincial government has spent a mere Rs16 billion (around 38 per per cent).

This was communicated to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah by the provincial finance department during a briefing held at the CM House on Wednesday.

The chief minister directed the officials concerned to initiate and complete maximum development schemes within the budgetary allocations and ensure quality of works.

In Sindh, 1,737 development schemes including 1,244 ongoing projects are being executed and a sum of Rs42.29 billion that has been released so far comes to 37 per cent of the total ADP.
