LAHORE, December 22: A special monitoring team on Thursday got criminal cases registered against as many as 24 quacks besides sealing their clinics in various parts of Wahga town.

According to a press release issued by the City District Government of Lahore, the team during the on-going crackdown against fake doctors also got arrested 11 quacks on the spot. The team led by Wahga Town’s Deputy District Officer (Health) Dr Imran Bashir urged the residents to immediately inform about illegal medical practice at their localities in order to punish quacks playing with their lives. The press release claimed that the massive operation had forced the quacks to leave such a heinous business.

COMMISSIONER: Lahore Commissioner Jawad Rafique Malik directed the officials concerned on Thursday to make proper arrangements for avoiding traffic congestion due to scores of educational institutions already set up at 20 main roads of the city. He said as the 20 roads were being converted into model roads, the departments concerned should immediately start removing illegal encroachments created by various hotels/restaurants to avoid traffic mess at these roads. — Staff Reporter
