AFTER electricity loadshedding, the government has added to the misery of the people by resorting to gas loadshedding.

We have been facing power problems for quite a long time and now gas shortage is yet another issue to tackle.

As a result, CNG is not available at filling stations. This situation is creating severe problems for the common man.

The government policy in this regard seems to be a complete failure and its incompetence is exposed. Every sector is unhappy with this gas load management.

The major sufferers are commuters and the people who are already facing difficulties in making ends meet. People cannot go to their offices and children face hardships in reaching schools owing to gas loadshedding which has reduced public transport.

The government policy was to encourage the use of CNG in transport so as to minimise its load of petrol and diesel which ultimately helped in decreasing the import bill and issued CNG pump licences in huge numbers.

The industry flourished but then we witnessed the negative side of the policy.

When most of the transport is converted to CNG, now the government has ordered the closure of gas and consequently CNG stations.

Everyone is badly hit by this scenario.

Be it workers at the CNG filling stations, the public transport owners, commuters, daily wages earners, everyone is reeling from the closure of the CNG stations.

I would like to request the authorities concerned to look into the matter seriously and urgently, keeping in mind the gravity of the situation and public sentiments.
