NICOSIA: Fourteen civilians and 17 security personnel were killed in clashes in Syria on Sunday, activists said.
Seven of the civilians were killed as security forces opened fire in the flashpoint central province of Homs, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
The security personnel were killed in clashes with mutinous troops who refused orders to shoot on protesters, the watchdog said.
