KARACHI: Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his doubles partner Rohan Bopanna progressed to the third round of the men's doubles at the US Open after beating James Cerretani and Philipp Marx 7-6, 7-6.

They will now face the Australian-Belgian pair of Paul Hanley and Dick Norman who defeated Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah  6-2, 6-3.

The fifth seeded Indo-Pak Express had earlier beaten Robby Ginepri and Rhyne Williams in the first round.

Qureshi and Bopanna finished as runners-up in the men's doubles event at the US Open last year.
