KOHAT, June 9: Two persons were killed over money dispute here in College Town on Thursday, police said.

According to FIR of the case, Haibat Khan and Abdur Rasheed, residents of Sheikhan, were sitting in a barber shop in front of the Government Postgraduate College, Kohat, when Irfran and his brother Pappu opened fire and killed them on the spot.

Bodies of both the victims were shifted to the children hospital for autopsy and later handed over to relatives.

The police registered a case against the accused and have launched investigations.

BOMB DEFUSED: The bomb disposal squad foiled a terrorist attempt by timely defusing a five kilogram bomb planted at a house in Mohallah Al Sheravi in Hangu city on Thursday, police said.

They said that the Hangu city police got information that a bomb had been planted at the house of a contractor, identified as Kareem of Orakzai Agency. The bomb disposal team reached the scene and defused the bomb, they said.

Sources said that the contractor had registered a case against unknown people at the city police station.

POLICE OPERATION: The Kohat police on Thursday arrested three suspects in its ongoing operation against militants moving between Kachai and Orakzai Agency.

Officials said that police commandos and elite force officials cordoned off the whole area and during a search operation arrested three suspects, including Mazhar Abbas, Shahad Ali and Hanif Ali. They said that three rifles and two shot guns were also recovered from their possession.

District Police Officer, Kohat, Mubarik Zeb has asked the political administration of Orakzai Agency for strictly monitoring the area along the tribal agency adjacent to Kachai area.
