ISLAMABAD: Expressing his views about the Federal Budget 2011-12, Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that President Asif Ali Zardari is holding the entire country hostage.

“The government should have shown the real picture of this country. In every corner of Pakistan this is not the situation they portrayed through the budgetary documents. It's not a time to sit in air- conditioned rooms and thumping desks,” said Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan while talking to newsmen outside the Parliament house, soon after the budget session ended.

Nisar claimed that President Zardari became the most unpopular personality within three years while the former President could not earn that much disgust during eight years of his rule.

He said that “it would have been disloyalty with Pakistan if we had beaten desks during the budget speech.” “We want to show the rulers the true picture of Pakistan,” he said. Nisar said that Pakistan's economic situation is not the one, presented by the Finance Minister in his budget address.

He said that the reaction and protest by the opposition members during the budget session was against what he called bad governance. He said his faction would adopt every possible mean to press the government for maintaining good-governance in the country.

To a question, Chaudhry Nisar Ali said that opposition parties have decided that they would not boycott the budget session of the parliament but would record their massive protest.

The Opposition Leader questioned why the President and Prime Minister were silent on the Abbottabad operation. “Since the US army raided Abbotabad, both Zardari and Gilani remained silent.” When PML-N raised the issue, the government summoned a joint sitting of the parliament which unanimously approved the resolution but all went in vain. He said that people are being killed in US drone attacks, suicide attacks, by hunger and the remaining people are being abducted and tortured by the intelligence agencies.

He also slammed the government for its willingness to launch a military operation in North Waziristan Agency on the dictations of the US.
