ISLAMABAD, Dec 8: The national contingent left for China on Tuesday to participate in the Asian Paralympics Games starting from Dec 12.

Pakistan will feature in five disciplines at the Games – athletics, goal-ball, sitting volleyball, judo and swimming.

Speaking before the departure, Pakistan’s sitting volleyball team captain Nazma Chaudhry said her squad was determined to win gold in the event.

Nazma claimed there were no opponents in the event except the defending champions China who could give tough time to her team in the finals.

“I am not worried about any opponents as my team-mates are fully capable of producing good results [against any team],” she maintained.

“We did a lot of practice within a very short span of time. However, if our training camp had lasted longer, it would have been better for us,” she added.—Agencies
