PESHAWAR, Sept 13: A flood affected woman has appealed to philanthropists to extend financial help so that she could arrange treatment for her husband who is suffering from hepatitis-C and admitted to surgical ward of Lady Reading Hospital.
Talking to newsmen at Peshawar Press Club on Monday the woman, belonging to Aurangabad Pabbi, said her husband, Mumtaz, 35, had sustained injuries during the recent flash floods and his wounds were not healing up as he was also suffering from sugar.
“He was a daily wager and since he was hospitalised his family was left with only option to depend on the relief items provided by the charity organisations,” she said and added that her family was so poor to purchase the costly medicines for Mumtaz's treatment.
She said her family had already been passing through very critical conditions as her house had been swept away in floods forcing family to stay at Government High School No-III, Peshawar city.
Narrating her ordeal, the woman said her children were unable to continue their education in such a situation.“I have five children including a girl who are out of school because of financial problems but I wish to send them to school,” she said.
The poor woman maintained that she had already borrowed loans from her relatives for treatment of her husband and was worried how to repay the loan.
