Chit chat: Oh Mani!

Published April 25, 2009

Salman Saquib, popularly known as Mani, started his career by interviewing people on the streets, prior to that he was associated with a theatre group. In 1999, a producer asked him to contribute a script for a sitcom named Agent X. That was the turning point in his life as there he met Mujtaba (whom he affectionally calls `Muji`) who was already working on the project.

Since script writing was not his forte, therefore as he got chance he tried his hands in front of camera which led him to anchor a minute street show called Streets, later a 30-minute show that ran for 150 episodes, and finally he opted for a career in front of the camera. Streets and Mani Says, a comedy show on Indus Music, were the first of their kind on cable television, whereas the popular sitcom Sub Set Hai became his benchmark which was very well received by the audiences. His popular work includes Famous landmark includes Ulta Seedha, Casual, Azfar-Mani FM Radio shows and Maniism.
