MULTAN, March 24 The master plan of Inner Ring Road, a Rs7,450 million mega project meant to share the enormous traffic burden with the existing city roads, is being given a final shape before the 22-kilometre long modern traffic engineering initiative gets a go-ahead signal.

Nespak official gave a briefing on the plan and design of the ring road. The commissioner advised the Nespak to design the intersections on the road in such a way that ensured smooth traffic operations on link roads and construct flyovers where necessary to achieve this objective.

He specifically mentioned Chowk Rasheedabad, Chungi

No 9, Eidgah, Kalma Chowk and Double Phatak saying that these sections were the most important ones as they linked many city roads.

The Inner Ring Road will begin from Jinnah Park and will conclude at Vehari Chowk after passing through Rasheedabad, Chungi No 9 and 8, Katchery Chowk, Aziz Hotel and Double Phatak.—APP
