ISLAMABAD, May 8 Twenty-five army brigadiers have been promoted to the rank of major general.

Informed sources told Dawn that eight of the officers were from infantry, four from artillery, three each from armoured corps and army medical corps, two each from air defence and engineering and one each from signals, Electro mechanical engineering (EME) and aviation.

Those promoted as major generals are Farrukh Basheer, Muhammad Farhad, Ishfaq Nadeem, Javed Iqbal, Qamar Javed, Muhammad Saeed, Sajjad Ali, Khalid Mehmood, Waqar Ahmad Khan, Zafarul Islam, Waqas Ahmad, Tahir Mehmood, Zaheerul Hasan Shah, Najeeb Ullah Khan, Khalid Asghar, Muhammad Tahir, Zeeshan Basheer, Syed Wajid Hussain, Changez Khan, Asfand Ali Khan, Zubair Mehmood, Naveed Israel, Israel Khokar, Mazhar Jameel and Waqar Ahmad.
