LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan is expected to file his nomination papers for contesting polls from the NA-126 constituency in Lahore on Sunday (today).

However, rumours are abound that Khan could run for another constituency in Lahore against PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif.

Nominations for four other National Assembly constituencies of NA-120, 121, 123 and 130 would also be filed on Sunday.

Talking to Dawn, PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the party’s central parliamentary board would decide the final seats for party candidates on Sunday and Monday.

“Every other information being given to the media is just speculation,” he added.

On Saturday, as many as 21 candidates filed their nomination papers for eight NA seats, including PTI’s Hamid Zaman and Yasir Gillani for NA-118, and Malik Waqar Ahmad, Muhammad Madni, Hafiz Farhat and Muhammad Usman Gujjar for NA-119.

Punjab PTI President Ejaz Chaudhry and Lahore President Abdul Aleem Khan have filed their nomination papers for NA-122.

Jamshaid Iqbal Cheema and Waleed Iqbal have applied for the NA-124 seat.

PTI Information Secretary Shafqat Mahmood, party’s Chief Election Commissioner Hamid Khan, Lahore President Abdul Aleem Khan and Brig Abbas retired have filed their nomination papers for NA-125.

Punjab PTI General-Secretary Dr Yasmin Rashid, Aleem Khan and Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar have filed nomination papers for NA-127.

Both traditional rivals Malik Zaheer and Haji Karamat Khokhar have filed papers for the NA-128 seat. For NA-129, Mansha Sandhu and Malik Nawaz Awan have filed their nomination papers.
