RECENTLY I went to a restaurant here at 11pm. There were more than eight young boys.

They were busy talking on mobile phones. Most of them looked like students of Classes IX and X.

Although their examinations were scheduled for the next morning, they were not bothered about it.

They were using foul language and vulgar words while talking to the person on the other end. Out of these eight boys, two were my students.

They left the restaurant when they saw me there. The remaining boys kept talking to their girlfriends on phone.

If our youngsters continue such activities, we should not expect anything positive from our young generation.

Why are their parents not bothered about night packages being offered by cellular networks?

If boys were talking to their girlfriends, obviously girls were doing the same.

There has been criticism from quarters in our society on late-night mobile phone package which is promoting a bad culture, but no concrete steps have been taken.

We should save our youths for a better future of Pakistan.
