LAHORE: The national selection committee will finalise the 15-member Pakistan team on Friday for the forthcoming three-Test series against South Africa and hand it over to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

“The selection committee is going to meet on Friday to select the Test squad,” chief selector Iqbal Qasim told Dawn on Thursday.

“As the Test series will take at least one month, the selectors will announce the two teams for the T20 and One-day International series later.”

Iqbal will also hold a meeting with PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf before going to sit with the selectors namely Saleem Jafar and Azhar Khan.

“South Africa are a tough team,” Iqbal said. “We’ll need the best squad to challenge them.”

Pakistan leave for South Africa on Jan 20 to play three Tests, two T20s and five ODIs.
