KARACHI, Dec 14: A suspected bandit was killed in an exchange of gunfire with a private security guard in North Nazimabad on Friday, police said.

The officials added that armed men riding a motorbike intercepted a car near a State Bank of Pakistan building in North Nazimabad block A. Sensing danger, the car driver sped up but armed motorcyclists opened fire on it. “The firing forced the driver to stop the car and attracted retaliation from a security guard traveling in the car,” said North Nazimabad SHO Inspector Akhtar Abbas.

“The car was owned by a businessman,” the inspector said.

The wounded bandit was later moved to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died during treatment.
