ISLAMABAD, Nov 28: A proclaimed offender, facing charges of fraud, escaped from court premises again on Wednesday.

Earlier, the accused – Sadeed Khan, a member of Awami National Party (ANP), who contested 2008 election from Shangla– ran away from the District and Sessions Court F-8 after a judge Azam Khan rejected his bail application on September 28.

This time, too, he disappeared after his bail application was rejected by Islamabad High Court (IHC). Though police were waiting for him outside the court premises, he did not turn up to give himself up to police.

The PO was booked by Kohsar police in separate cases of fraud registered against him in 2007 and 2008.

On Wednesday, Sadeed appeared in the court of Anwar Khan Kasi where he had challenged the rejection of interim bail application by additional district and session judge. “Here too the judge after hearing the arguments from both sides rejected his application,” police said.

The police launched a manhunt for him but to no avail.

When contacted, Ramna police duty officer ASI Noor Ilahi expressed ignorance about the incident.

Kohsar police, however, said Sadeed Khan was not in the police custody. When judge announced that he would give judgment after a while the PO went into the chamber of a lawyer from where he vanished, the police said.

He was neither in police custody nor escaped from it, so complaint against him in Ramna police station could not be lodged.

Earlier, a case was registered against Sadeed in Margalla police station after he escaped from the premises of the lower court.

The proclaimed offender was wanted by the Kohsar police in two separate cases registered on the complaint of a former government official Yawar Saeed Khan.

The complainant while talking to Dawn alleged that Sadeed Khan along with his father Haji Sad Fareen, ANP Shangla president, Maj Zubair Ali Khan, presently posted at Quetta and affiliated with 63 SS Regiment sold him two pieces of land measuring 337 kanals and 15 marlas in Fatehjhang Road in 2005, which they did not own.

Later, they tried to give another land comprising 109 pieces to him. But again they did own it, he added.

The complainant said he got a case registered against the three persons, including a patwari of the area in 2007. However, the police declared the patwari innocent and also forced him to settle the case out of court.

As a result of settlement, Sadeed gave him a cheque of Rs5450,000 which was dishonoured, Saeed Khan said, adding that he in this regard also got a case registered against him with Kohsar police station in 2008.

Mr Khan further alleged that the Kohsar police were helping the accused and not arresting them.
