KARACHI, Nov 1: An improvised explosive device (IED) weighing around four kilos was found and defused near Zehra Nagar, Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Thursday.

An official of the bomb disposal unit said that the IED had two nine-volt batteries and contained four-kilo explosives though it didn’t have ball bearings or nuts.

The IED had been connected to a remote-controled device, the police said, adding that the IED concealed in a container was planted near a speed breaker in front of Arif Aracde on Kiran Hospital Road.—Staff Reporter
