KHAR, Oct 25: The USAID in collaboration with the Fata secretariat distributed high quality seeds and fertiliser among farmers of various parts of the agency on Thursday.

Speaking at a ceremony, Political Agent Syed Abdul Jabar Shah said farming which was the major source of income of the locals was badly affected by the militancy turning a large part of land uncultivated since 2008.

He distributed 1,000 bags of 50kg DAP fertiliser and 1,000 bags of certified wheat seeds among as many farmers of Mamund, Khar, Uthman Khel, Salarzai, Barang and Charmang tehsils. He said the government was taking keen interest in improving farming in the agency. — Correspondent
