KARACHI: CID police have arrested seven alleged terrorists including chief of a banned outfit and recovered huge quantity of weapons and explosive material from their custody.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, DIG CID Dr Kamran Fazal, accompanied by other officials said that the accused were planning to attack the Central Jail in Karachi to set their associates free and were also planning to target a school bus.

The accused were involved in ongoing sectarian violence in the city and in the killings of doctors and lawyers.

The DIG said that the Ameer (chief) of a banned outfit, identified as Mehmood Babar alias Dorki Shah had obtained training from Waziristan.

He said that the accused wanted to attack the Central jail, Karachi to set free their associates.

He further said that 125 Kg of explosive material, seven suicide jackets, rocket launchers, two Kalashnikovs, four TT pistols, three guns, three detonators and five hundred bullets were also recovered from the possession of the accused.
