ISLAMABAD, Sept 23: The All Pakistan Minorities Alliance held a rally against the anti-Islam movie on Sunday.

The rally started from Green Trust Tower and ended at D Chowk (Blue Area).

Adviser to the prime minister on minorities’ affairs Dr Paul Bhatti, MPA Tahir Naveed, khateeb of Lal Masjid Maulana Amir Siddique and others also participated in the rally.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bhatti said the Christian community was equally depressed over the blasphemous movie. He said the United Nations should take notice of the issue and make law to restrict that kind of incident all over the world.

He said Muslims and Christians had been living in these areas since centuries and they cannot be divided through such evil attempts. He said holy personalities of all religions should be respected.

Maulana Siddique said Muslims respected all prophets. Though in Pakistan the Christians are considered a minority but according to Islam people living in any country were one community.

By making blasphemous movies and sculptures, some elements have been trying to divide different religious segments, he added.

Speaking about the burning of a church in Mardan, he said Islam does not allow damaging any property.

All religions talk about peace which can only be ensured by following the rules of the religions, he said.

Maulana Askari, another religious leader, said Muslims were thankful to the Christian community for showing solidarity with them. All prophets came to show the right way to human beings, he added.

He said the anti-Islam film protest would continue all over the country because Muslims cannot bear the insult to prophets of any religion.

He said the incident of burning the church in Mardan was also condemnable and he considered the incident as terrorism.
