KARACHI: Karachi Port Trust (KPT) arrested their recent slump, although partially when they got their first points in three games after a 1-1 draw against Habib Bank Limited (HBL) in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) on Monday.

Coming into the fixture on the back of two successive defeats, KPT were heading for their third straight loss as they were trailing 1-0 before Mohammad Bin Younus obliged with the equaliser in the 81st minute after Asim Mansoor had given HBL the lead midway through the first-half here at the People’s Sports Complex.

The draw meant KPT now have four points from their opening six fixtures while winless HBL have two points from five matches.

Meanwhile, the other PPFL fixture here at the KPT Football Stadium saw National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) awarded a walkover against Pakistan Navy after they failed to turn up for their match.

“We were there for the match and even warmed-up for thirty minutes before we were told by the match commissioner that we were given a 3-0 victory,” NBP coach Nasir Ismail told Dawn.

It meant that NBP now have 13 points from seven matches while Navy’s seven games have yielded eight points.

Wohaib FC’s match against PMC Athletico, meanwhile, was shifted to Tuesday.

Tuesday’s fixtures:

Wohaib FC v PMC Athletico (UMT Football Ground, Lahore); KRL v ZTBL (KRL Football Stadium, Rawalpindi); PIA v Baloch FC (Korangi Baloch Ground, Karachi); KESC v Muslim FC (KPT Football Stadium, Karachi).
