MIRAMSHAH, Sept 1: Six people were killed when US drones attacked a vehicle and a house in Dattakhel area of North Waziristan on Saturday morning.

According to sources, six drones flying low in Dattakhel fired four rockets on a vehicle and a house in Dhegan village at around 9am.

The vehicle caught fire and six people in it were killed.

Local people retrieved the charred bodies.

They said the bodies were beyond recognition.

According to them, several drones were hovering over the area at the time of the attack.

Drones regularly hover over different areas in Dattakhel, Miramshah, and Mir Ali thesils.

Locals said that a majority of victims of the drone strikes were innocent people, including women and children.

AFP adds: A security official confirmed the strike and casualties.

He said the area had been the target of US drone strikes in the past, which killed several foreign militants.
