LAHORE, July 30: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal ordered on Monday sealing of the TV studios building and registration of a case against the owners for their alleged negligence in the fire.

The fire at the studios of a private news channel claimed the lives of five people and left many injured. He also directed the quarters concerned to arrange medical facilities to the injured people in hospital.

The DCO monitored rescue and relief work at the fire scene and directed law-enforcement agencies to probe into the matter.

He appealed to the owners of dilapidated buildings in the city to get their properties checked regularly. He also directed officials to prepare a list of all such buildings.

MILL: On receiving complaints on City District Government of Lahore’s (CDGL) ‘Zimadar Shehri’ helpline (080002345), the DCO ordered officials to seal the Sunny Flour Mills for supplying substandard flour in the open market and Ramazan bazaars. He also ordered a case against butcher Adil for selling unhygienic meat to the people.

ACTION: The DCO took notice of the non-availability of water in Shah Jamal and directed the Wasa administration to ensure provision of water to the residents.

He said the massive construction of the BRT project had caused suspension of water supply to various localities.

CLAIM: The CDGL on Monday claimed a considerable reduction in the prices of various commodities in Ramazan bazaars.
