ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) on Friday held the first phase of talks for seat adjustment in Sindh province.

In this regard, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah called on PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and the party's Sindh leaders at the residence of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

Advisor to CM Sindh and the party's general secretary of Sindh Haleem Adil Shaikh, Aleem Adil Shaikh and others were also present.

Later, while talking to media, Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that both the parties had discussed strategy for Sindh and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif would get “big surprises” in Sindh.

He also dispelled the rumors about differences between both the coalition partners and said that they remained united in Sindh, adding that talks for seat readjustments were underway.

Qaim Ali Shah also joined in and said, “We don't overestimate ourselves, but we don't underestimate ourselves either.”

He said that the politics of the PPP and its leadership were the reason why Nawaz Sharif had to go to places in Sindh where one needs not go.

He said Nawaz Sharif had approached non-entity people in Sindh who had criticised him a great deal in the past.

“He has asked the nationalists to join him who have been bitter critics of him,” he said, adding that these people had never even won a single seat.

“Nawaz is trying but he still does not have a seat, even in the assembly and none of our party members have joined him either,” said the Sindh chief minister.

He said that Nawaz was approaching people who had left his party earlier, who have had cases registered against him and those who have always been disagreeing with the PPP since the beginning like Mumtaz Bhutto.

Shah said that some of the nationalists totally disagreed with the constitution and these were the people Nawaz Sharif was recruiting.
