LAKKI MARWAT, July 25: People continued to protest prolonged loadshedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and adjoining tribal areas on Wednesday by blocking roads.

Protesters belonging to Abdulkhel, Kattakhel, Eesakkhel, Shah Hasankhel and adjoining villages said excessive power cuts had stressed them out by bringing their life to a virtual halt.

Representatives of the protesters later met district coordination officer Nisar Ahmad in his office and apprised him of the locals’ misery.

The protesters later cleared the road.

In Kohat, women blocked main road in front of the residence of district coordination officer here on Wednesday to protest against suspension of electricity in their locality.

The protesters dispersed after Pesco SDO Wajidullah and DSP Ehsanullah assured them that the Pesco officials would do their duty and install the transformer within three days.

Meanwhile, residents also staged a protest in KDA Township against acute shortage of drinking water here on Wednesday.
