PESHAWAR, July 22: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister and parliamentary leader of Awami National Party Bashir Ahmed Bilour on Sunday urged leadership of political parties to avoid politicking on fight against terrorism and support the government's endeavours to combat the menace for sustainable peace in the country. Talking to a group of ANP delegation here at his residence, the senior minister said that attacks in Upper Dir, Orakzai Agency and Gwadar during the holy month of Ramazan had exposed the evil mindset of terrorists, as they had no regard for religion, humanity. He urged the political parties to unite against the enemies of peace.

He said that militants were involved in acts of terrorism, including bomb blasts, suicide attacks, blowing up of mosques, hospitals, markets and educational institutions, and were bent upon weakening the country economically and politically.

Mr Bilour said that infiltration of militants from across the western border and attacks on the security forces in Upper Dir and Chitral districts and tribal agencies could be stopped by showing unity and supporting the security forces.

He said that the government had united the nation against the evil of terrorism and it was now the collective responsibility of political parties to extend support to the government to eradicate this menace once and for all. The minister said that incidents of terrorism should be condemned and political leaders should visit the bereaved families for expressing solidarity with them.

He said that it would give a strong message to the enemies of peace. He said that the ANP had stood against militants and terrorists like an iron wall and vowed to continue struggle till elimination of the menace of militancy.

The minister said that people, politicians, security forces and police had rendered great sacrifices to secure future of the young generation and their sacrifices would not go waste.He said that the provincial government would not succumb to any tactics of pressure or threats. — APP
