KARACHI: Police defused a bomb planted near Safoora Chowrangi on Karachi's University Road on Friday, DawnNews reported.

Police said the bomb, containing 15 to 16 kilograms of explosive material, had been planted near a school building.

The bomb was locally made and could have caused a major disaster however the bomb disposal squad managed to defuse it in time.
