KOHAT, July 15: The provincial Health Regulatory Authority (HRA) has ordered to seal a private hospital in Kohat city after death of a young man allegedly due to negligence of doctors.

Sources said that the HRA had directed the executive district officer, health, and drug inspector through a letter to seal the Khyber Medical Centre after death of a young man from Babri Banda village during surgery there.

In this regard, relatives of the victim have registered a criminal case against Dr Sohail, Dr Aziz, Dr Maroof and owner of the centre Irfanullah. They had also moved the provincial health department to close down the facility because the law prohibited its functioning till the case was decided.

There were dozens of unregistered private hospitals operating in connivance with local health staff and fleecing patients in Kohat.
