TIMERGARA, June, 20: The Zaimdara police station SHO and a constable were injured when a police mobile van hit an improvised explosive device near Nagotal area here on Wednesday.

Officials said a police mobile van was partially damaged when the IED planted along the road in Sor Kamar area of Nagotal went off, injuring Zaimdara SHO Hazrat Hussain and constable Salim Khan.

They were taken to the DHQ Hospital, Timergara, where doctors said they were in stable condition.

After the incident, police cordoned off the area and began a search operation.

However, no arrest could be made until the filing of the report.

Also in the day, a man was killed when his rivals opened fire on him in Khawas area in the jurisdiction of Asbanr Adenzai police station on Wednesday.

Police registered the report on the complaint of Dunya Zeb Khan, brother of the firing victim, Musa Khan.

Mr Dunya told police that Rozi Khan, Saeed, Naeem and Rehman opened fire on his brother when he was returning home from the bazaar. He said the attackers fled after the killing.

Later in the day, police raided the houses of the accused and seized two guns. They attributed the killing to an old enmity. — Correspondent
