THEODORE Roosevelt has said: “Justice consists not in being neutral between right and wrong, but in finding out the right and upholding it, wherever found, against the wrong.”

The same has become the hallmark of our judiciary. Recently, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has been presented the International Jurists Award 2012 at a ceremony in London. The CJ expressed on the occasion that the SC acts as a final arbiter and protector of the constitution’s norms.

It is heartening to see that the efforts of the apex court are not going unnoticed and its continuous struggle has won laurels at the international level. Courts are the only hope and last resort for common man to get some relief in these troubled times.

Congratulations to Iftikhar Chaudhry for upholding the flag of justice and winning respect for his motherland.
